Yes and No. Let’s understand this better. During the fermentation process, SCOBY breaks down tea and sugar to create living probiotics and healthy acids. This fermentation process in most cases also leads to production of alcohol of around 1-3%. So most homemade kombuchas and even store-bought ones might contain some alcohol.

We at Kultur’d however, brew your booch in the most controlled and hygienic environment to make sure there is no trace of alcohol, making it safe for all!

Kultur’d kombucha doesn’t contain any alcohol.

What is SCOBY?

The term SCOBY stands for Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast, and it does all the magic and hard work to create kombucha out of a sweetened tea!

SCOBY is made up of different bacterias like lactobacillus, acetobacter, and various types of yeasts which ferment the sweet tea to create kombucha full of living probiotics, healthy organic acids, antioxidants, polyphenols, B vitamins and much more!
